Laminate veneers: what minimal-prep DIAlami means

What veneers can and can't do

Veneers change how front teeth look: colour that whitening can't fix, chipped edges, small gaps or uneven lengths. They do not move teeth, so badly crowded teeth may need orthodontics first.

What minimal-prep means

Traditional veneers need a layer of enamel removed so the shell fits. With minimal-prep DIAlami veneers, very thin ceramic is used so that, in suitable cases, the tooth surface is only lightly polished or not changed at all. More natural tooth stays, and the result looks less bulky.

Who is a good candidate

  • Healthy gums and no active decay
  • Teeth that are not strongly crowded or rotated
  • No heavy grinding, or willingness to wear a night guard

How the visits go

We start with photos, a scan and a smile design so you can see the planned shape. Then the veneers are made and bonded. The exact number of visits depends on how many teeth are treated; we tell you the schedule and the full price before starting.

Care afterwards

Brush and floss as usual, avoid biting hard objects such as ice or bottle caps, and keep regular check-ups.

Questions

How long do veneers last?

Ceramic veneers commonly last many years with good care. Grinding, biting hard objects and gum disease shorten their life.

Are veneers the same as crowns?

No. A veneer covers the front surface; a crown covers the whole tooth and is used when a tooth is weak or heavily filled.
