Braces or clear aligners while you live in Dangjin

Is it worth starting orthodontics in Korea?

Many foreign residents finally have a stable routine in Korea: a steady job, a fixed address and a dentist nearby. That makes it a good time to fix crowded or gapped teeth. Orthodontics is not covered by Korean health insurance for adults, so we agree the full price with you before anything starts.

Clear aligners or fixed braces?

  • DIAalign clear aligners are thin, removable trays you change every one to two weeks. You take them out to eat and brush, and they are hard to notice at work.
  • Fixed braces stay on your teeth for the whole treatment. They handle large tooth movements and complex bites well, and you can't forget to wear them.

Which one fits depends on your teeth, not only on preference. We check with X-rays and a digital scan, then show you the options.

How long does it take?

Mild crowding can finish in under a year. Most adult cases take 12 to 24 months, followed by a retainer to hold the result. Visits are usually every 4 to 8 weeks, and Monday or Thursday evening appointments make that easy to keep.

What if I move to another city or go home?

Tell us your expected stay at the first visit. If your visa or contract ends in 10 months, we may suggest a shorter, limited treatment or plan the timing so you finish before you leave. If you move unexpectedly, we give you your records and a written summary so another dentist can continue.

Looking after your teeth during treatment

Brush after every meal, clean around brackets or trays carefully, and keep your yearly insured scaling. Sticky snacks and very hard foods can break brackets.

Questions

Are clear aligners cheaper than braces?

Not always. The price depends on how much movement is needed. We tell you the full price of each option before you decide.

Can I get braces at any age?

Yes. Healthy gums matter more than age. We check your gums first and treat any gum problems before orthodontics.

General information, not a diagnosis. Your dentist will advise you after an examination.
